I've replaced a pump motor in my Kohler indoor jetted tub. I've had to McGyver the connections from the original 1.5" to the new 2" connectors. In doing so the return lines coming from the sides of the tub which are 1" (I think) flexible hose or PVC hose. I've had to cut the original PVC t-fitting out and replace with a standard PVC fitting in order to fit it to the new 2" screw on connector to the pump. So i need to re-glue the sort of grey thick flexible hose to the new PVC t-fitting without it leaking.

My question is what type of glue or sealant do i need to use to ensure when I glue the "somewhat" flexible line to the PVC t-fitting that it will be rock solid and not leak? The orginal seemed to have a pretty solid glue used.

Would I use just basic PVC primer/glue? or no there's a special marine type sealant/glue that should be used? If so is it common and I can find it at one of the big box stores?

FYI....Spoke with the Home Depot guy in the PVC section and he told me regular heavy duty PVC glue was fine. Got home and googled it and below is what the first site I checked said.
