Hi,

My wife and I are in the process of shopping for a cooktop and like the look and functionality of the induction cooktops. I am curious if anyone on this site has one and can tell me what they like/don't like about it. Also, is one brand any better than the other?

Thanks,

sweetboy

IMHO one has more precise control over the cooking process
using a natural gas stovetop. At work there is an induction
cooktop used daily, not something I'd prefer to buy new, ever.

My house came with one. first thing i had to do is put all my pans in storage since they werent magnetic. You must bring a magnet along with you to the store or find one there to use. I found some farber stuff for under 50 at bed/bath. never buy nordicware..it flakes very easily and it doesnt last

superfast boiling is wonderful. lower temps are good as well, i'd never had any problem just simmering sauce etc. I think if i ever left the house id want to include the thing in stuff i take :)
