I just erected a small cement block wall and would like to paint it.I would like to do this right the first time so I'm not painting it every two years because I didnt do it right the first time.First thing I did was applied Dry-lok to the bare block and then I painted it with an exterior latex paint specifically for concrete block. But the selection of colors was limited and I would like another color.Do I have any options?Thank you in advance.

While block fill or drylok is needed as a primer, most any quality latex house paint will work for the top coat. In fact a quality latex house paint will outlast most masonary coatings.
What kind of wall is this? If a retaining wall, both sides must be sealed and a drain system may be needed to remove water trapped behind the wall. If both sides are exposed, both sides [including top] need to be primed/painted. You want to prevent moisture from traveling thru the wall and lifting the paint:eek:

If you don't want to paint it every two years, why paint it at all?

Thanks for the response.
Its actually a fence that seperates my yard from my neighbor.I know a block wall sounds like overkill but Im planning other projects and this type of fence works better than any other type would. So when everything is done,I would prefer a color that I can see everyday and not second-guess myself knowing I should have painted it when I had the chance.
Thanks

You certianly have the chance now & you're going to have many more chances, probably more than you think. That's why I try to avoid painting surfaces that don't need painting. Anyway, enjoy whatever color you choose.
