I have two fully mature apple trees that last year produced bushels of fruit, but we couldn't eat any of it. One bite out of any apple and it was like a mouth full of sand. For some reason the meat of the fruit was gritty, and void of flavor. This summer the trees have flowered and will soon produce fruit again. I can't say exactly what kind of apple they are. when they start small they are green and quickly go to red when they are about an 1" - 1 1/2" in diameter, and grow to a normal apple size. They were perfect apples, not a single bug, the deer loved them :).

Does any one have any experience with this or any suggestions?
