I have two questions.
I have an artesian well on my property and want to put in a tank and then pump from the tank to water. I bought an old 55 gallon drum and looked at pumps. The best one at Home Depot looks like a sump pump made with caswt iron ans stainless steel. It ha a 1 1/2" outlet. I could get reducers and run the garden hose off it but am wondering of the pressure might be too greaat and either burn out the pump or burst the hose. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Second question. I have rerouted the drain pipe from my washer to a tank and am using that water to water my garden as well. The plants all seem to love it. Does anyone know anything about the dangers standard detergents might pose in the long term from this? Or what to do about them? I know one guy who has been doing it 40+ years and claims he has seen no bad effects from it.
Thanks.
