How do I get my silk drapes to fold on the curtain rings like I see in the magazines? Is there a trick to it?

Hi and welcome to the forum! What kind of heading do they have? Are they pinch pleated or flat?
Basically they just need to be dressed. If they're pleated already, you just kind of start at the top of each pleat and form your fold as you go down, push it over, then go the the next pleat, and keep repeating. If you like, you can put tubes of fabric around the panel (top, middle and bottom) for about a week to help train them.
Now if they're flat, well you just have a lot more work. Maybe try spacing the rings closer together evenly, and try to form even folds. With flat panels, it's best to keep them stationary or you'll have to redress everytime you open and close them.
