What is the best way to start laying Brick Pattern in the Kitchen.

Do I still need to make a cross with Chalk in the center of the room and work down in quadrants or should I just start from the kitchen Entrance way.

I am laying the floor all the way under the kitchen cabinets (which aren't in yet) so I don't mind if the really small pieces are there, but I have a squared kitchen shape, so I am just looking for the best way to start the tile job?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
