Air Conditioning - A/C wont turn off

My home A/C unit will not turn off. And when the fan on the outside tries to turn off it makes a lot of noise and at night you can see small sparks that appear as if they are coming from underneath the concrete slab the unit sits on. Cold A/C still comes out and works just fine. When I turn off the unit from the Honeywell TS it shuts off right quick, however if i set it at a certain temp it just keeps right on going... I have a warranty and a guy coming out on the 8th, however i am afraid of long term damage... does it hurt it when i just turn it off myself? any thoughts would be much appreciated

I would shut it off to prevent damage. It sounds like you have a bad contactor. If you're going to turn it on and off, use the circuit breaker.
