I really need to get my sis a different muffler. Currently is has a little round muffler about 6" in dia at most and could have a small hole but maybe not. Are there any options for a quieter exhaust for these motors?

The machine may have an OEM muffler. If so, there is not much you can do unless it is rotted out and needs replacing. Don't try to jerry rig additional shrouds and piping on it, you may cause the engine to overheat.

can you post the Mower model number and the engine model number? That way we can see what options are available for it.
