Hello:
I have a AM Standard Freedom 80 Comfort R furnace with a Braeburn Model 3000 non-programmable single-stage thermostat. Unit is about 2 years old.
Now on my old system I was able to set the Fan to On on the thermostat and the blower would operate regardless of whether the heat or A/C was on. This was great because we are in a humid location and the circulating air helped keep the house dry and prevented musty odors in the basement.
Apparently this Am Standard unit has some kind of variable speed operation and turning the fan on on the thermostat does not do anything...fan is only on full when the A/C is active.
So the question is, is there any way (without voiding warranty) to reconfigure this system so that I can force the fan on, regardless of whether the heat or A/C is currently active? Thanks.
