I wanted to cut a small channel around the interior of my basement floor to direct water from seepage. I believe it may be a french drain.? I want it as close as possible to the wall. I'm wondering what type of tool can be used to accomplish that? Thanks in advance!!

To cut all the way through the concrete, you'll need a concrete saw with a 14" diamond blade (a 12 inch blade might not be large enough if the concrete is any more than 4 inches thick) and the capability to be used with water so as to keep down the dust. There will be a LOT of it! With this setup, you can probably get within 6 to 8 inches of the wall.
If you dn't want to cut all the way through the floor, you could use a circular saw with a diamond blade, a 7.5 inch grinder with a diamond blade, etc. Then you'd need a jackhammer, sledgehammer, etc. to finish knocking out the concrete that's left in the trench.
In my opinion it would save a lot of time, headaches, breathing dust, and maybe even money to have this done by a professional concrete cutting company. They have the equipment and know-how to do it without making too big a mess in your basement. Good luck.
