I have a kenmore ultra wash portable dishwasher that is about 10 years old. the model is 665.17799990. The problem i have is that the soap dispenser will not open during the wash cycle. I can rotate the dial manually and it will open almost every time. I don't know what to do. i have taken it apart and everything looks like it is in good working order. there is nothing obviously broken. I have replace a couple of the parts and that made no difference. what do you think could be the solution to the problem described?

I think your machine has a mechanical linkage from the timer to the dispensor. Take the door apart and see if anything is worn.

I have already done that and everything looks fine. it is all plastic in there, but nothing looks like it is worn anywhere...
