I noticed there are few voids - less than 1/3" - in grout in shower walls. After throughly cleaning and drying, is it ok to add a premixed grout to this area and build up the grout in a few other areas?
I don't want to go through hassle (or expense if we have to hire someone) of removing all of the grout and starting from scratch.
Thanks

You can try it but I don't think it will hold.

How about a color matched caulk..they even have it sanded. I'd probably buy a tube of that and try it first.
Pre-mixed grout? Never heard of that..I'm probably lucky or I might have tried it...lol.

Premixed grout is not grout at all, it's caulk in a bucket. Real grout is portland cement based, and cannot be stored in a bucket. Premixed will not hold up in a wet area for very long.
Your best bet would be to remove the grout in the problem areas and replace it with a cement based grout (one that you mix with powder and water).:)
