My problem with E SIMON XT security system is that its built-in buzzer is not loud enough and in case of emergency, we do not even hear it when sleeping. The system allows to have an external buzzer which is much loud enough but the problem is that this external buzzer do not have same control as internal buzzer. For example, internal buzzer can be programmed to have very little beeps during normal use but maximum loud sound when emergency happens. This is important as when we turn ON security system each night, as per procedure system beeps for 1 minute, then it is in armed mode. The loud beeps can be very annoying for 1 minute, so internal buzzer has that option where we can set it to a very low beeps and it is very helpful. The problem is that external buzzer do not have any such programming option to reduce the beeps. So if we choose to have external buzzer, then it is very much annoying to have a very loud noise of beeps for 1 minute each night. I do not know why GE did not made same programming for external buzzer or may be i do not know.
I tried to explain the situation and I hope it will be understood. So please help me to get a much louder sound in emergency which can only be achieved using external buzzer but at same time having an option to reduce the beeps loudness when we armed the system in night.
One possible solution I see is that taking out the internal buzzer. Cut its wires and attach an external buzzer to it. This way we get a louder buzzer and same time having a control on annoying beeps. The only problem is that will the system be able to sustain much larger load (current) of external buzzer.

If the issue is that the internal sounder is not loud enough when the panel is in alarm, the XT does have the option of setting the hardwire siren connection to only activate on alarm, while you set the interior piezo to what level you want.

Hello MrRonFL,
That exactly what I am looking for to have External alarm in Armed mode and built-in piezo for all other. First question how do I set this configuration. I looked in all Menus and could not find.
Second question is that if I set the external alarm, then will it beep like it does now for almost a minute. My whole reason is to get rid of annoying beeps in the night when everybody is sleeping and I am trying to arm. In fact mu kids wakes up, as they consider it an Alarm.
Thanks

Take a good look at the section on system options and siren options (in my copy of the manual it starts on page 51).
Also, if you use the "silent" key, you can turn off the exit beeps when you are arming. I think it will still beep once at the start and end of the exit delay.
