We have a flowering crab apple tree that is over 50 years old and already is showing signs fire blight. One of the out branches has become very top heavy and is now nearly touching the ground and makes mowing very difficult. My question is whether it would be okay to cut the branch off now or should I wait for a different time of the year? We live in the Twin Cites. Thank you.
