I am building a courtyard wall consisting of a 3' concrete block that I am ready to top with an off the shelf black metal fence. My question involves the fence and gate post attachments. I plan to veneer the 60" columns / pilasters with an Eldorado stone product. Am I better off attaching the metal fence and gate posts directly to the concrete block colums and veneering the Eldorado Brick veneer around them? Or should I attach the metal fence and gate posts to the Eldorado stone veneer for a cleaner but probably less secure alternative? Thanks for any advice

I always vote for more secure.

Does anyone have any experience veneering an eldorado stone type product working around obstacles or thoughts on if this will pose a challenge?
