I just bought a Poulan trimmer. The book says to avoid alcohol blend fuels. A few years ago this was possible. I haven't seen a gas pump recently that wasn't labeled for blended gasoline.
Should I buy a carb now?

If you think you should, then go ahead. Most trimmers are 2-cycle (oil mixed in the gas). The oil will help the corrosion issue. I recomend using Marine Stabil all the time. Marine Stabil is made to help address the E-10 issue. Regular Stabil is not.
