Trimmer/edger was working fine, but the pull string won't catch after stopping to replace the trimmer string. Any ideas?

It could be the little ratcheting dogs on the flywheel are just stuck in the out position. On some models you can see them through cooling vents behind the pull rope, and unstick them with a screwdriver and lube them with some spray.
