Hi all,
I have a broke burner for my Maytag cooktop MEC5430 so I replaced the burner. When I turned the unit up side down to unscrew and remove the cover, I did not pay attention so the fiber insulations were moved out of original places when I lifted the cover. They are five 3 x 8 pieces in rectabgle shape. I didn't know where to put them back. My first instinct told me to put them between the burners and the cover to keep the heat away from the cover so I placed the fiber insulations on top of the back of the burners and put the cover back. There are 4 burners but 5 pieces of fiber insulation so I placed 2 pieces on top of the biggest burner.
Now another thought made me jump off the bed to ask you guys for sure: are the fiber insulations in right place when I put them back? Is the corect place between the burners and the wires or between the burners and the cover?
Thanks.
