I'm about to order a honeycomb shade, outside mount, for my french door. It's going to be right onto the french door and will just cover the windows. I believe my door is made out of fiberglass. How do I actually mount the window treatment? Do I need a special type of anchor?

Unless they are extremely heavy, sheet metal screws of the proper size for the brackets should be fine. Don't overtighten and strip the holes though. Some people have used 3M automotive trim tape (available at any auto parts store)between the door and the bracket, then screwed them on, but shouldn't be required.

You want sheet metal screws, not wood screws. Sheet metal screws may be included with the blinds.

makes sure you don't use "self tapping" or "self drilling" sheet metal screws. This will not get a good grab on the fiberglass door and may not last over time.

a sharp 3/4'' long #6 sheet metal screw with a hex head top is perfect.. Make sure you pick up a magnetic 1/4'' hex head nut driver for your drill when you're at the store.
