Does anyone know if there is in fact concrete stain made or available, a finish that rather than being applied to the surface and staying on the surfact of concrete actually soaks in. It seems from what I have read that so much has to be done before concrete will accept paint and provide reasonable life; one would expect then that a stain that can be absorbed by the concrete would and could provide color but not break down with foot traffic or more importantlly peel. I suspect there are some good people out there that have had experience with this issue.

Do a Google search for acid stain. You will find more info than you will care to read. It's a true stain, not a coating. Good luck.

Acid stains look great! If you want a solid color stain, H&C stains do a good job. It will wear away but I've never seen it peel. Recoating, melts the previous coat for a good bond. Being zylene based it does have a strong odor when wet:eek:

Thanks for the info, will look into that. At least I know there is such a thing, just seems to make more sense then trying to get concrete paint to stick and provide reasonable life.
