mod #917.259570 Mower has had loose steering for a while but didn't recognize this as a real problem. Now mower won't turn left. It "jumps" gears when you try. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Probably needs a new shaft support and sector gear. About $35-$40.

Thank you for the advice. My husband installed a new shaft support (part #19, I think). The sector gear was not yet damaged. Now the mower is steering just fine. Thanks again!
