I have a Frigidaire top loading washing machine, about 9 years old that stopped spinning (final spin cycle) today. The drum and agitator works during the wash cycle. When looking at the belt and pulleys for the spin cycle the tensioner pulley moves, the belt tightens slightly, and the motor spins but the belt does not move. That is about all I know to look at...
I can't find a model number but the information I have is:
Frigidaire 7 cycle Heavy Duty Extra large Capacity Washing Machine. Purchased in 2000.

see if you can turn big pulley both directions by hand. could be a major problem if not

David, I tried turning the large pulley below the drum both ways but it will only turn in one direction.

not too good.

maybe you are lucky and there is something stuck between the basket and the tub as there is no brake on this model.

Thank you, David. I will look around and see if I can find anything out. My wife did say that she heard a "ping" two different times. Maybe something came loose.
