:alarm:Hi Everyone, Thanks for any help and advice. My a.c. has been running for 3 days in CHicago 90 degrees outside. I now see a lot of the air ducts in the basement are DRIPPING ENORMOUS amounts of water. It's making the paint chip off the vents. WHat is wrong??? Please help.

If your equipment is working like it should, then you have to much RH in your basement. You are in a green grass state and should have a dehumidifer running. This will remove the Rh and stop it from raining. Also open a couple of vents this will help cool the basement.

Thank YOu Airman, May I ask a stupid question?? I still had the whole house humidifier on. I now turned it off. It should stay off in summer when the ac is on correct?? Thanks, Katie

Yes, turn off the humidifier. Labs use what is called a 90-90 box (90 degrees and 90% relative humidity) for testing how fast parts rust, corrode, etc. Your house and basement are a close second.
