How can I put an a/c into a bedroom that has only crank out windows, each one being 50" high and 21" wide? The crank out windows are on either side of a large picture window, and this room is stifling hot when the morning sun beats in.

Do NOT take this as a referral. It merely is to demonstrate what I am talking about.

Casement window air conditioners. They are tall.

Walmart.com: Haier Vertical Window Air Conditioner: 8,000 BTU: Home Improvement (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4456976)

You might consider a heat reflective window film such as those from 3M or Gila.

The problem with crank-out windows is rain. I installed an ac unit in a side slider with a similar problem. I built a frame and support for the ac unit with a piece of plexiglas around it to fill the opening. It worked.
