Hello. Thanks in advance for any info.
Got a new Kenmore washer to replace the 2 p.o.s. GE(original and replacement model from GE) we got when we moved in. Washer works great, but, during the 2 rinse cycles, bubbles are coming out of the pvc waste line that the washer waste pipe goes in.
This never happened with the GE, and I'm wondering if the waste hose from the new washer is smaller and causing it? Also wondering what we can do to stop the bubbles from escaping?
We have 12" of straight 3" PVC going to the curved P trap and into the main waste pipe of the house. The washer waste pipe is probably inserted about 8" into the PVC.
Thanks. AW

i cant think of any scenario that you could blame the washer for this problem. perhaps you are using too much detergent or the drain is too slow or designed poorly.

Is this a front loader? Not that I'm a pro in this area but our new front loader calls for detergent marked HE "High Efficiency". Apparently conventional detergent foams too much for them.

That is a rather odd standpipe.
Is the trap 3 inch pipe also? Maybe the water, flying out the small washer hose, is behaving in a similar way, as to what happens if you spray water into a pail - instead of carrying the sudsy water immediately down the drain (if the pipe size were smaller as it should have been).
With the larger pipe and trap, I can see how there could be more of a sudsing effect, in the same way as when adding soap to a car wash pail and using a high output garden hose nozzle into the pail. We all know how that foams up with soap suds.
