Hi ppl.

I have a question which I hope someone can help me with. I am about to start painting a place I just bought. The walls have been plastered, so I was recommended to use a water based paint so that the plastering would be able to breathe (it being new and all).

I was wondering whether anyone could suggest their opinion on which paint is best to be used between Macpherson and Sigma...

Thanks for your help...

Byron

Welcome to the forums Byron!

I'n not familiar with either of those brands. While occasionally there is a need for an oil base primer, there is no good reason to use an oil base finish on residential walls.

Generally you are better off buying paint from a paint store versus a paint dept.... and it almost always pays to use the mid to top grade of paint.

The plaster is new, correct?
If so, some plasters may need up to 3 months before priming & painting to cure-out :coffee: !!
Many need a month though...

Definite YES on water-base primers & paints:thinker:.

After the month or so wait-time :gmorning:...prime & paint to your hearts'-content!
