Woke up to ac not working 2 days ago. Next morning checked what I could and decided to replace the 30 amp fuses in cicuit box in the attic that lead to the unit. Went in turned on the main circuit breaker and the air kicked on. Worked for 2 days and quit again. Went up switched fuses around filp main breaker works for about fifteen minutes. Outside unit the fan is spinning, reset thermo and can wear it click on. Not sure what to do next.

Fan is spinning outside, can you hear the compressor running? Works for 15 minutes as in cools for 15 minutes or simply runs for 15 minutes. What happens after 15 minutes? When it runs, is the larger freon pipe outside cool, cold, warm, same as outside temp? What kind of fuses? They should be time delay type fuses.

Are the fuses your replacing for the air handler or the condenser?

Yes they are time delay fuses and the ac cooled for fifteen minutes. To add something new the ac came on last night and cooled all night and would not shut off. The thermo reads that it is 74 in the house which I suspect is not correct. Turned up thermo and would not shut off. Then switched it to heat and then back to ac. It shut off and then kicked back on. Think I may have a bad thermo. Not sure. Just went outside and the fan on the unit was not spinning and was humming very loudly the large copper was cold and the small was very hot.
