Greeting friends;
I have made a fixture to place just under our patio umbrella. It consists of 8 PVC 45 degree 6" piping used as the holders and 8 class B light bulb receptacles fitted in the larger end.
Obviously there is 1 black & 1 white wire protruding from the smaller ends of each of the 8 holders.
What I want to do is run wire from the inside patio light single switch, which I've converted to a double gang by breaking the tab so the top switch controls the porch light & the bottom switch will manage the umbrella lights I spoke of above. I read that daisy chain is not a good idea...so what is? I'm more of a visual person than reader, so a drawing either cocktail napkin or CAD will benefit me more. Not to say I won't give the reading of a worded diagram a try. I've got plenty of fuses (LOL)
Thanks for any & all comments, but please keep the derogatory, tightwad ones to a minimum.
Thanks,
A Newbie (read as...go easy on me)

Nothing derogatory, but is this contraption UL listed? PVC has no properties built in that will keep it from melting with bulb heat. How do you propose to run the wire from the patio light switch? Conduit? What type junction box will you be using to connect all the wires together in and where will it be mounted?

This is a more than simple set up and you allready ran into couple of code voilations on the spot.
Hate to be harsh but there is a luminarie on the market that you can able to use it { it will have UL label and tested for that useage }
Really if you want nice mood lighting set up you can use the LED rope light that will look alot better than the oddball item you made. { plus it is more durable and safer too }
Merci,Marc
