I have a 351 sea water cooled. do I need to run the exhaust through the outdrive or can I make it a through hull set up

It can be run through the transome but it's a lot of work. The y pipe that the exhaust exits now must be blocked off at the transome so the motor must be pulled. Then it's a mater of ducting the exhaust through the transome. That would be a short list I'm shure there will be more obsticals as you go.
Some boats have a electric switch that selects were the exhoust exits transome or outdrive.
Check the laws in your area in MN the switchable exhaust is not leagal and they watch for it.
