Hi, I have a heat pump model E3EB017H manuf- Int. Elec.
that the AC unit wont work. We hooked up a new thermostat this past winter and found the heat pump was not running- it was running off the auxillary heater. So we left it. Now we tried hooking the original thermostat back up, we have heat from it, but not Air. I am not sure if we are wiring it wrong at the wall, can someone help with this?

Not sure if it will help, but the G terminal energizes your fan. If you post with what wire colors are attached to what terminals and where those wires go, I can take a stab. Also, let us know how the old tstat was wired.

It would be a big help to run down those wires to their end at the air handler or outdoor unit, and list the terminal label attached there.

green wire- fan
red wire- R
yellow wire-Y
blue wire-O
white-W1

We think this is where they go. The tstat was just hooked up August of 07. We are just trying to hook the old tstat- HPT 18-60 back up. But would really like to get the Hunter 44860 hooked up. Thank you

There is also a "c" and "e" terminal on the old HPT 18-60 not sure if anything was hooked to them.

blue is typically used for common/neutral - assuming that's what that wire is for. You also don't list a wire that goes to the reversing valve - typically orange. Are those all the wires? Also let me know what terminals they go to on your air handler and heat pump?

These are the terminals on the Pump
The blue one traces back to an orange wire on terminal O.

We know the green is the fan,

The red wire goes back to a Fuse then runs to a purple wire and goes into a box at the handler.

the yellow goes into another yellow wire and out to heat pump-to terminal Y1

the white wire goes to a red wire that connects to outside tstat that connects to white wire to terminal W1

there are only 5 wires.

Let's try this. Fill in the question marks, or correct.

tstat AH Heat pump
-----------------------------------------
G -> green G ? C
R -> red box ? R
Y -> yellow -- yellow -> Y1
O -> blue -- orange -> O
W1-> white -- red/white -> W1
? C
C?

-- means not tied to any terminal on the air handler

The green goes to C on the HP
THe red goes to R on the HP

That is all the wires coming out of the wall.

Don't like the green at heat pump as I don't know where that goes.

Time to get out the multimeter. Are you getting 24VAC at heat pump's R and C? What do R and Y, R and O read when calling for heat and cool?

At the R and C he isn't reading at all but the fan is running?

You need power to that board if you want A/C.
