Hi all,

When we turn on the switch to the pump it makes a noise and then nothing happens. Any suggestions?

It was hot when I went to see what was wrong last night.
It was running hard for about the month of May we had the filter in sideways.
We bought the pool last year from the neighbors I do not know much about this stuff.
It is a doughboy I do not have models in front of me at current time.
thank you for any info

if it is just humming sounds like you may need a new pump. More specifics would help.

it could have something lodged in the impeller.

sounds like the impeller shaft is stuck.
could be something stuck or rust has formed and stucks to the magnets. on some models at least on my hayward there is a cap
on the end where the shaft is. try taking it off and turn with a scew driver with the pump unplugged. if it doesn't turn
then one of the two problems i said.
