Hello,

I'm looking to get a window A/C to cool the living room. The problem I have is the living room windows are too small. By one bloody inch.:wall:

The windows are double hung, the opening that an A/C could be stuck out of is 16 1/2" wide by 20 1/2" tall.

I took at a look at a Frigidaire FAK104R1V (http://www.frigidaire.com/product.aspx?productid=1454) which appears to be the only one narrow enough to fit into the 16.5". The problem is that if you read down into the specs it says the minimum window opening needs to be 21.5" which is one inch too big.

So.... if I can't use the living room, that leaves either a bedroom or the dinning room which are a bit wider (26.25") and can take more of a standard A/C. The obvious problem is they are in another room and I assume I would need a larger A/C for all that extra square footage?

How far can a regular A/C blow the cold air? The bedroom window has an almost straight shot through the door and is about 19 feet away from the living room.

The living room is 13.5' by 19.5' (263.95 sq ft). The dining room and living room make an L shape, with the dining room window 13.5 feet from the living room.

The bedroom has a dedicated 20A outlet that was put in for an A/C. The Dining room has only a standard 15A that is shared with a couple other bedrooms.

Any advice?
