Picked up an old 10 hp Evenrude (Sportwin) model 10012 at a yard sale. I believe it is an 1956. Can someone tell me the initial setting for the High and Low fuel carb setting?

I wish I could help but it's 30 years older than anything I have worked on. If you can turn them in as you count the turns and put them back and hope no one messed them up before you.

I actually remember messing with those settings when I was a kid. The initial low setting is one and a half turns out. The initial high setting is 3 turns out. Fine tune both by first running at full speed and adjusting the high valve, then pull the throttle all the way back to adjust the low.
Those needle valves are easily damaged by over tightening, so don't seat them too hard. Tighten them just until you feel a little resistance.
