I am painting a couple accent walls in my front room. I have only completed one walls which leads from my front room / Kitchen out to the front door. My question is should I paint a small wall in the front room that is perpendicular to the large wall I just painted or I can paint another long wall that is parallel to the accent wall. Is there any rule here? I heard that painting the longer wall would make the room look deeper but then I heard painting the smaller wall perpendicular would help carry the accent wall into the front room.

Generally accent walls, are one wall in a given area, used to inject some color into an otherwise white or pastel room, and usually done opposite the window wall, if possible. The color chosen may belong to some other item in the room and used to have some continuity of color, or be a complete contrasting color. All that being said, anything can be done. In a narrow hallway as you have described, I believe the end walls would be the accent prospects, perhaps even the perpendicular wall you describe. But, the sky is the limit....
