This feels like deja vu since I just had a similar problem with my Kenmore refrigerator, but now my Kenmore dehumidifier is experiencing nearly the same symptoms. The model number is 580.54501500, and it is 4 years old.
The fan and compressor are both running, but the coils are not getting cold. The compressor becomes hot to the touch in about 5 minutes of running.
I opened it up and found a techsheet inside. I scanned it and am posting a copy at the end of this message.
To me, it looks like I have to replace, at the very least, the OverLoad Protector. Should I replace the drawing capacitor as well? Thanks for any help

Is it shutting off on you?

It runs like normal, but doesn't produce any condensate because the coils never get cold.

Sounds like you lost the charge in system or compressor went bad.

I checked over the whole thing closely and didn't see any obvious punctures in the tubing. Oh well, it was only $200 brand new. Guess it's time for a new one.
