Does anyone have experience painting composite decking? The one I'm working with is Veranda (Home Depot). Mfr does not recommend painting. It's being used as trim, so it won't get heavy wear.

Yes most manufacturers recommend just washing with bleach. After a few years the product may look less than appealing, but it is servicable, once you start painting you create a maintenance project to be done every so often. For your trim installation I would use oil based primer and finish.

I agree with the oil base primer but I wouldn't recomend using an exterior oil finish in fla!
The fla. sun is too hard on oil base coatings. Finish with a coat or 2 of a quality latex house paint.
