The pilot light in my propane fireplace is on but even crossing the thermostat wires doesn't allow the burner to light. There is no wall switch. I was a production manager and only know some handyman things, but I dont have a manual for the unit and don't know where all the component parts are located. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you
Rich

A stupid question but is the knob on the combination gas valve turned to the "ON" position rather than "PILOT"?

Next "less than smart" question....is it operated by remote control? If so, locate your receiver box in the right front part of the box and renew the batteries, as well as the ones in your sending unit. Nothing you can do will make it light except using the remote control, as the latching mechanism won't permit it.
