Hello - Hopefully someone can help with the following problem. Whenever we wash dishes in the dishwasher or by hand at the sink and let them dry they end up having white spots on them. I know this is a common problem but we also have a water softener. I thought that maybe since we installed the water softener the spotting problem would be resolved but it hasn't corrected it.

The water softener is only about 5 years old and seems to be working fine (we get sudsy water now a lot easier than before we had it). Does anyone have any idea as to why we are still seeing spots on our dishes/glasses, etc? We've tried several didn't dish washing liquids and spot reducing products but still no luck.

Thanks!

a good way to find out what is in the water after the softener is to take a gallon of it to a water quality testing service...most around here test it for free..this will tell you whats in there and they may have the answers on how to help you further...there are many different setups and treatments for softeners

other than that hand drying the dishes should also work
