Hello!
We are considering Kinetico 2030 water softener. Is that the right choice is we want to stick with Kinetico double tank system.
Hardness is around 11 gpg (TDS 305), pH - 6.85 and 0.4 ppm of iron. The thing is that we have a neutralizer and a radon aeration system installed already, they drop iron level to 0.18 ppm. pH is 7.7 after the treatment.

Yes, the 2030 will work well. There are other choices which are more efficient and may even be cheaper depending on the flow rate and typical volume you may use.
Ask about the 2040, 2025, and 2020 models. Even a 4060 will work but won't be as efficient as far as salt/water usage is concerned.

I thought that 2030 was the cheapest model. I guess you mentioned in other topic that 2030 is better when iron level is high. I took a look at water test result from another company, iron level is 1.49 mg/L. And water is very turbid and yellow. Do you think we need to put a sediment filter before the softener? Kinetico guy told they would install the softener before the aeration unit.
We have 2 adults and a child, but there are 3.5 bathrooms in the house. We have visitors all the time and I cook a lot, so I guess we need a lot of water.

Are you sure that he said the aerator would go AFTER the softener? That is unusual. What is the aerator trying to treat? How is it set up (equipment sequence)?
Your iron teest vary widely. When in doubt, go with the higher reading. Try to get a third opinion.

Yes, it looks like everyone ( we also contacted Calligan and local Fleck dealer) wants to install softener before radon aerator. Probably because the aerator has its own pump, so it would keep the pressure high.
Now we have the well tank, the neutralizer and the radon system along the water flow.

I guess the vent goes outside, all the way up to the roof to get rid of radon.

OK, so your aerator has no backwashing filter, right? That is why it is placed afterward. That makes it a cheaper set up. How is air added to the system: is the pump connected to pressure switch or flow metered controlled.
Does your aerator have a gas off tank separate from the backwashing tank? Is the nuetralizer a flow through or a backwashing filter?
