If the pilot stay lit, that is good. But did you rotate the pilot valve and additional 1/4 turn to 'on'?? If you did and the burner does not light, the thermostat may be turned all the way down, or you have a bad thermostat.

Hi,

I have two gas water heaters in my home, one for downstairs and one for upstairs. The problem i have is i am not getting hot water in downstairs, i checked both the water heaters and the settings for both of them are same and not sure how to fix. How do i check them, would really appreciate if anyone can help me out. Also how do i see if the pilot light is on?

Thanks,
arsreddy.
