I plan to give this a try as my first large project for my home. I was wondering if anyone had some good sources of information regarding installation of a heat pump. For example, some good internet videos or walkthroughs or even a good HOWTO book. May be a this old house episode.
I'm looking for encouragment here not discouragment.
Thanks.

The equipment you buy should come with installation manuals.

Unfortunately we can not offer any encouragement or assistance for this project.
DIY installation of any a/c equipment is not permitted due to the requirement of being EPA or provincially certified to do so.
Also, the equipment you would need would make a one time installation impractical.
