This is a follow up to my question about patching plaster on an interior brick wall. I have applied the Plaster Lock bonding agent to the wall and put on the Structo-Lite Basecoat. I'm getting ready to put on the skim coat / final layer of plaster (in this case DAP pre-mixed patching plaster).

Can you help me with the following questions?

* How dry does the base coat need to be before putting on the skim coat? Is waiting two days sufficient? Too much?

* Do you put plaster bond on again, on top of the basecoat, before putting on the skim coat? Or is the bond just used to make sure the basecoat attaches to the wall effectively?

* Do you wet the basecoat with a water sprayer before applying the skim coat? I read that this is important to do because the underlying plaster will suck all the moisture out of the skim coat and lead to it cracking.

Thanks again!

Jim
