Welcome to the forums, televisor. Thank you for posting this info. After last Friday's switch-off of the analog signals I'm sure quite a few people could benefit from those links.

UFO Antennas. This type of Tv Antenna looks like a UFO. Also known as omnidirectional antennas. This type of Tv antenna works Ok when the Tv transmitters are close , 0 to 30 miles or so. Some UFO antennas are completely omnidirectional and some can rotate to get a little better signal reception UFO antennas work well when Tv transmitters are all around in different directions with open land areas. As an example but not limited too the middle part of the USA , the great plains states. And less well , right in the mountains and densely packed citys with a lot of tall buildings. The reason is , 'Reflections' <-> 'snoitcelfeR. Tv signals are reflected off of mountains and buildings and these multiple reflected signals are received by the UFO Antenna and can cause a bad picture. It is True that Yes Digital Tv has Built in Digital Signal Correction , however multiple upon multiple reflected signals will over load the system. How do you know if a UFO antenna will work at your location and receive Tv transmitters from all different directions? buy one and try it. antennacraft.net as a first choice and winegard.com as a second choice have the best UFO Tv antennas. However Winegard has the best Satellite antennas for motor homes. As a matter of fact I recommend antennacraft for most Tv antennas. As an example , the Standard All Channel HD (heavy duty) 850 and HD (heavy duty) 1200 are long lasting antennas with excellent reception. The Standard All Channel Tv Antenna rejects tv signals at the sides and back of the antenna and concentrates the receiving at the front of the antenna , sometimes called forward gain. Gain is the ability of the antenna to increase signal strength. I also recommend the antennacraft.net HDX 1000 , this is a small directional Tv antenna that will work well in many situations. :coffee:

So , televisor , is there such a thing as a (digital tv antenna) ? My one word answer is NO. A tv antenna is a tv antenna. <-- That said --> Like all antennas the antenna can be 'tuned' to resonate at different frequencies. This is done by making the metal rods of the antenna shorter or longer and smaller in diameter or larger in diameter. As an example , this is true of a piano , look in side and see the shorter and longer strings , strike the strings and here the resonating frequencies. Electric waves are like this and in a different way you can also test tv antennas. Get a tv antenna that has the short metal rods , like a UHF antenna for channels 14 thru 51 , and see how well it (resonates) , receives , at channels 2 thru 10. Then get a tv antenna that has more metal receiving rods of both shorter and longer lengths and see how well it (resonates) receives channels 2 thru 51. So is there such a thing as a 'special digital tv antenna' ? The one word answer is NO. Here is the truth , the traditional all channel broadcast tv antennas , the ones with short - longer and longer and very long metal rod receiving elements are that way for a reason , to resonate at different frequencies and capture more signal. :coffee:

You have been wondering if there is such a thing as a Tv antenna signal level meter for alignment Tv antenna with the Tv transmitter that does not cost much money? Type in 'digiair pro' in a search box. :coffee:
