I have not used aluminum sulfate on my hydrangeas in a year or more and I got out the bag and followed the directions. It said to use 2 cups (1 lb.) per 5 gallons of water. That seemed like a lot so I checked the internet and it said 1 Tblsp per gallon!! YIKES! quite a difference. So I haven't used it yet to get your expert opinion. The Aluminum sulfate is about 14 %. What should I do? And I noticed on an earlier post you mentioned using Miracle Acid. Should I use it in addition to the AS? My hydrangeas don't have as many blooms as last year. It may be early but I don't see many new "flowerettes" either.

Hi Bibbus,

Not sure who said something about "Miracle Acid". Maybe you mean Miracid? I wouldn't use both products at once. You could harm your plants.

On the site that said to only use a tablespoon of aluminum sulfate, were they referring to the same strength?
