I have a Tech Power sealed nonspillable 1240 that needs to be replaced. Where can I get a new battery? cost? Thanks!

Some home centers stock 12v 4ah and 12v 7ah batteries (they are used in things like gate operators and emergency flood lights).

Otherwise look for things like your local Interstate or Delco battery distributor, or websearch using the phrase "sealed lead acid battery"

I have a concord express panel also. 4 nights in a row it was beeping at about 2am. finally decided to look into it. I replaced the battery (old battery = 12v 4ah; new battery = 12v 5ah)and for some reason, the panel still reads "Press Status" and when I do, it reads "CPU Low Batt". Is there anyway to clear this? I assumed that after the battery was changed, it would clear itself when it checked in to see the battery there.

Also, going from 4ah to 5ah should have no adverse effects, should it?

Thank you so much for any assistance.

Systems retest the batteries once a day. It may take up to 24 hours for the trouble to clear.

Or do a sensor test (8+code+3)...system checks the battery then, or cycle power.

MrRon - It has been almost a week since I replaced the battery. I initially thought it would clear after 24 hours but, now I'm stuck. Also, I just realized that the green ready light is not on. What else could I be missing?

GEGuy - I did the sensor test already as well and that did not clear anything. How do I do the cycle power you mentioned?

Disconnect the battery and AC and then hook em' both back up. Hit the * key on the keypad, it will tell you what the problem is....

None of that worked for me. I tried to disconnect the battery again and disconnected power to the board. When I put everything back. It is still all the same.

I still get the press status and when I do, it says CPU LOW BATT. Also, now green ready light at all. No matter what I do.

When you power back up , hook up the battery FIRST, then AC. The system checks the battery on AC power up....

Well, that didn't work either. Is it time to call someone in to have a look at this?

If the battery load tests good, and will support the system, but the battery trouble still won't clear, the only thing left is a failing motherboard charging circuit (unless someone like the GE Guy has another suggestion...).

Basically, it this is so, then the motherboard is done, there is no fix.
