I am building a laundry room in my basement and want to put the dryer vent behind a stud wall (so appliance will fit tight against wall and vent pipe is not exposed). I'm building the wall with 2x6 studs to support the 4" vent up to the floor joists, and out the house. I've noticed a couple wall inserts online that you can buy. Does anyone have any recommendations for connecting a dryer to behind the wall pipe?
I'm thinking that I might be able to simply block an elbow into the wall and connect dryer by pushing the dryer carefully into the vent (avoiding flexible tubing etc). If I snip the end of the pipe and flare the end a little, it might make connecting easier.
I've never done this, so any insight regarding connecting a dryer vent into a walls is appreciated. Also, is there a standard location for the discharge vent on dryers? I'm worried about the next dryer fitting into the same location (without ripping apart the wall.

I saw the wall insert online that you mention and it does seem like a good idea. Lets the dryer go right up to the wall and still allows flexible and easy vent connection. I think I would try that out. Keep in mind that over time the dryer is going to get bumped around and moved out and back for servicing.
