Hello,
I'm just about finished my walkway paver project and many thanks to all on this site who have helped out with tips and advice.
I'm now a the point where I need to put the tread on my riser for the step going from the walk to my porch. I'll be using a single course of wide bullnose pavers in front of a single course of regular brick pavers and had the following questions:
Is there a trick to use to get the mortar joints to be uniform in width? I'd like to hold the joints to 3/8" in order for everything to line up properly and so that it looks finished.
In doing the riser I noticed that when you tap one brick in you sometimes move others that are still sitting in wet mortar. Would it be OK then to lay the tread bricks in a mortar bed, get them postioned and leveled out, and THEN come back and fill in the joints between them by pressing mortar in?
Thanks
