On the older machine, you'd just undo exterior screws, slip a putty knife under front lid in 2 spots and gain access to front and top. THIS is the newer lawsuit proof machine that requires good IQ test scores to figure how to access this 3-side wrap around skin version. And the rear access panel is booby trapped by these plastic vertical slide/lock in pieces, rather than screws. I DO know that the top, by lossening stuff at the back control panel, will allow you to push the top forward to get it out from under 2 channels. (How sneaky of them.)

Would the best way to access where the water pressure line comes off the bottom of the tub, to say lay this machine down on it's side, front or rear?, to get at it from underneath the machine? It seems to me that a few years ago I gained access to a similar machines coupler this way.

I need to work on it tomorrow, as this stored machine would have flooded the basement floor after I test ran it yesterday at it's new home, if I hadn't caught it not stop filling. I let it get to 1/8th inch of overflowing, and shut it off. Wrote note on machine. Tried the machine again in even low water level setting. Same thing. I suspect spiders made nest in the pressure tube while it sat stored.

Today I have to paint. Tomorrow I'll work on the machine.

Ah yes -the good old days where they just screwed on stuff and you looked and could gain access to any location in seconds.

DO NOT TAKE ANY SCREWS OUT OF THE BACK PANEL

the cabinet comes off very easily, you need to flip the console up to access the clips that hold cabinet on. post model# for detailed instructions

don't worry about the rest of instructions. When you open consul make sure the pressure switch hose is on the pressure switch. Common problem to come off when noving machines. Put a little water in washer and blow through hose, should hear bubbles.

Thanks to both of you. Sounds like obvious thing to check is the hose in the console, since it was moved. I'll keep you updated. Got to finish up painting tomorrow, and then we will see what else I have going. Like the old lady who dropped a spoon in her disposer and part of the disposer broke. I never have to worry about where my next dollar will come from. It's always something.

David, I see your light is on. How do you flip up the console? Sounds too easy. There must be a catch to this somehow.

there are 2 screws that need to be removed to allow the console to flip up. they are in the front OR rear corners of the console. post model# if you need more instructions

I went down there to check it out after I finished painting that apt. like a madman since early this morning. There are 2 front-bottom corner screws that angle down. I will remove those and see what happens next. Hope to find the hose disconnected so I can get by easy fro once without doing any more work today like a contortionist. I have to go work on some other washer with no spin after lunch.

Model number for this Whirlpool is an LSR7233HQO.

Can't wait to see if you are right on everything you've said. Maybe tomorrow. I quit for the day. I did enough stuff today.

Fixed the other (Amana) washer minutes ago, replacing the belt yet again, and added a little more tension to idler spring. I can change these out in minutes now, that I'm so used to that machine. Took longer to go across town for belt and test run machine after and clean up water/check for leaks.

........................................

I had to go on a run. I could not resist, while I was out and about. I swung by the rental, popped open the top as suggested (how easy!), and line was connected - and I could not blow or suck through it at all. On this newer type machine, there is not some sort of electrical relay solenoid valve connected inline is there? If not, it must be plugged then.

no relay or valve. Tube should go from pressure switch down right back to a port in tub. Check to see if tube got pinched between bak and cabinet.

Brought in air compressor today so that I could work on it and get double time on Sunday. :D -not!

Compressor did not help. So I tilted machine back and reached under there and disconnected hose from tub and tried blowing again from the top down to the now open bottom end. STILL plugged.

That is when I looked and saw the hose pinched between the wire harness plastic protector and the chasis. Someone installed the tubing on the wrong side of the plastic, instead of inside that open triangle area. So I rerouted it without having to remove back panel. Then I pulled on tubing some to inspect the crushed hose area, and I got it rounder some. Reconnected the bottom again, blew down the tube again = all clear now. Plugged the tube back into the pressure switch and closed the console and ran the machine in the 3 water level settings = good each time.

Then I fixed a lock - and told a new girl tenant it be best to close fire escape door so I did not have to come back later and chase after bats.

Thanks to both Pugsl and David. I would have gotten this job myself, but I got to apply their knowledge, to help me save time -and that counts too you know.
