We just re-did our bathroom with ceramic tiles. Unfortunately, we *assumed* that we could replace our 40-yr old American Standard 2-handle shower control valves with just new ones - after the tiling was completed. We ordered a new 2-handle but see that it came with the piping too.

I guess my main question is, is there any way to get this done without having to rip out the nice new tiling we just put in? The other rub is that my wife wants oil-rubbed bronze controls as the rest of the bathroom has that color throughout already.

I guess if we have to rip them out then we would just hire a plumber to install the piping (maybe even move to a 1-handle shower) and then beg my tiler to come back (and forgive me).

If you can get at the back side, you can go in that way. And there are chrome "beauty plates" that could cover the extra holes, if you go with a new single handle job.

Brainstormed an easy & perfect solution - we just painted the old fixtures with the new color scheme (oil bronze finish). Looks great!!!!
